These are just a few of the words that come to mind when I’m asked about Pat Gordon Contracting. As like many of my neighbors in Long Beach, NY, and specifically in the West End of town, my home was substantially damaged as a result of Hurricane Sandy, in Oct 2012. I was the owner of the typical, one level, beach bungalow/ranch style home that is found in the West End. After almost 3FT of flood water destroyed the entire inside of my home, it was necessary to consider how best to rebuild. My decision came down to two options….raise the existing structure and repair/renovate, or bulldoze and build completely new. After consulting with several different contractors, the decision was made to lift and salvage the existing house. That was the tough decision, the easy one was picking the best contractor for the job.
From the beginning dealings with Pat, it was obvious that he was the contractor for the job. His estimate for the job was very thorough and detailed, especially when compared to the other contractor’s bids. On day one, after signing the contract, Pat showed up with his plumber, electrician, and framer as arranged, on time, to discuss the job and review the overall process and timeline. From that day till the last, I was never left wondering about the job. Work began as outlined and was completed within the original estimated time frame. Everybody associated with Pat, from the plumbers to the electricians, the carpenters to the masons, everybody that works with Pat did a fantastic job. One look at their work and it was obvious that Pat only work with the best craftsmen out there. I hesitate to leave anybody out and inevitability I probably will, but some of the names of the guys on the job I would like to say Thanks! Joe and Marty, Roger, Mike, Tuey, Ernesto and Fred, Herb, Jimmy and Richie, Lionel and Mike, and all their assistants. I truly appreciate your hard work and efforts on the job.
Rebuilding a house is no small undertaking, but Pat truly knows his profession and will guide you through the process. He is always quick to return your calls/emails/texts etc.,…, and answer any and all questions that you might have. He can recommend many different suppliers/vendors when it comes to picking out tile for the bath or cabinets for the kitchen. And let me add that his reputation with those many vendors is stellar….never heard a bad word from anybody and they deal with many contractors. All of them love dealing with Pat and I now know why. And lastly, I would be remiss to not mention his wife Elisa and her assistance with all the invoices, billing, and overall keeping things in order and on schedule.
To sum up, I know it can be a difficult and stressful time trying to decide on a contractor for any proposed home repair, renovation, or completely new construction, but I can’t recommend Pat Gordon Contracting enough. I am extremely pleased with the completed home he was able to rebuild for me. On time, on budget, and expertly constructed is what I was hoping for. Pat, Elisa, and his crew delivered……Absolutely-Positively!!
